GeoDecisions Announces CIVA Voice Technology Integration with Cityworks
At the Cityworks Innovate Conference on June 8, GeoDecisions, a division of Gannett Fleming, announced that the Collaborative Information Virtual Assistant (CIVA) platform now integrates with Cityworks, the leading GIS-centric asset management system built exclusively on Esri’s ArcGIS Online (AGOL.) The CIVA integration will assist in meeting growing field data management needs by enabling voice technology to complete reports and other tasks.
CIVA is a voice-activated virtual assistant platform developed by GeoDecisions to help with reporting, inspections, asset management, and more. The Cityworks platform helps local governments and utilities manage public assets and associated data, work activities, and business processes, allowing communities to work smarter and better serve residents.
Cityworks allows workers in the field to interact directly with GIS assets to collect information, report observations, upload pictures, complete outstanding tasks, and use visual map tools to streamline workflows. By enabling Amazon Web Service’s Alexa, CIVA can integrate with Cityworks’ GIS functionality via voice commands to find assets, provide direction to those assets, and initiate emails, work orders, inspections, tasks, and other actions, all from a pair of Alexa-compatible earbuds while working in the field. CIVA can also initiate tailored dashboards using Esri’s AGOL to serve up an array of easily understandable data.
“Innovation is a driving force at GeoDecisions and, with the development of CIVA and our integration with Cityworks, we are thrilled to provide a cutting-edge toolset for their asset management customers,” said Jamie Christensen, innovation director at Gannett Fleming. “We see voice as the new keyboard for mobile field users and look forward to continuing to build on our strong partnership with Cityworks.”
In addition to helping teams complete forms while in the field, CIVA’s key benefits include:
- Enhancing reporting efficiency, speed, and accuracy.
- Improving data quality.
- Increasing safety on site.
